Getting comfortable
How do I make the text bigger or smaller?
The first time you open the app, it asks you to pick a text size and a look. To change the size later, tap “A Bigger” or “A Smaller” on the home screen, or tap “All settings” and choose a size under Text size.
There are five sizes: Large, Larger, Extra large, Huge and Biggest. Biggest is 1.8 times the size of Large.
How do I change the colors?
Tap “All settings” on the home screen and choose a Look: Ivory is light, like a book page; Onyx is dark and easy at night; Bold is black and yellow for the strongest contrast. Auto follows your phone: Ivory by day, Onyx when your phone is in dark mode.
Playing
How do hints work?
In Sudoku, tap “Help”. “Show me the next step” marks one square with a dashed outline and explains in plain words which number goes there and why. If one of your numbers is wrong, it points that out first.
“Check my numbers” underlines any numbers that are not right. Nothing is marked unless you ask, there is no mistake limit and there is no game over.
In Word Search, tap “Help” to see the first letter of a word you have not found yet.
How do I mark a word in Word Search?
Tap the first letter of the word, then tap the last letter. You can also drag your finger from the first letter to the last. Grids come in 8×8, 10×10 and 12×12.
How do the daily puzzles work?
Every day the home screen has a new Today’s Sudoku and a new Today’s Word Search. A new pair starts each day by your phone’s date, and everyone who plays on the same date gets the same puzzles. They are always free and work without the internet.
Full Access and purchases
What is free, and what does Full Access add?
Always free: Today’s Sudoku and Today’s Word Search every day, Easy Sudoku as many times as you like, and 6 word lists.
Full Access is an optional one-time in-app purchase. It opens Medium and Hard Sudoku and all 60 word lists. It costs $4.99 in the United States; in other countries the App Store or Google Play sets the local price and shows it before you pay. There is no subscription, no ads and no account.
How do I buy Full Access?
Tap “Open every puzzle” on the home screen, or tap any level or word list marked “With Full Access”. Then tap “Unlock”. The App Store or Google Play shows the price and asks you to confirm. You pay once; it is not a subscription.
You need an internet connection to buy. The payment is handled by Apple or Google, and we never see your card details.
How do I restore my purchase?
If you bought Full Access before, or you are setting up a new phone: open the Full Access screen and tap “Restore purchase”. You can also tap “All settings” and then “Restore purchase” in the Full Access section.
Use the same Apple Account (on iPhone) or Google account (on Android) that you used to buy it, and make sure the phone is connected to the internet.
Full Access restores on any phone signed in to the same store account. A purchase does not move between iPhone and Android, because Apple and Google sell it separately.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by the store you paid, under its own rules. We never see your payment details.
iPhone: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, or follow Apple’s refund help page.
Android: follow Google Play’s refund help page. If you are not sure what to do, email us and we will help.
Your puzzles and your phone
Where is my progress saved?
Only on your phone. The app has no account and no cloud sync, and nothing is sent to us. Your settings, puzzles in progress and simple statistics stay on that phone.
What happens if I delete the app?
Deleting the app deletes its data from your phone: settings, puzzles in progress and statistics. Full Access is not lost: install the app again and tap “Restore purchase”.
I have a new phone. Will my puzzles come with me?
The app does not move puzzles in progress or statistics by itself. They come across only if your phone’s own backup or transfer (iCloud on iPhone, Google backup on Android) includes app data.
Full Access is safe either way: on the new phone, sign in to the same Apple Account or Google account, install the app and tap “Restore purchase”.
Do I need the internet?
Not to play. Every puzzle, including the daily ones, works offline. The internet is needed only to buy Full Access, to restore it or to see its price.
Accessibility
Does the app work with VoiceOver and TalkBack?
Yes. Squares, letters, keys and buttons have spoken labels for VoiceOver on iPhone and TalkBack on Android. Hints are written to be read aloud and start with where to look, for example “Row 3, column 5”.
Other help for comfortable play: the Bold look for the strongest contrast, large buttons, a setting to hide the clock so there is no time pressure, and a gentle vibration you can turn off.
Which phones does it work on?
IPhone and Android phones. The app is in English only.
